Lomax, who has racked up an impressive 186 points for the Dragons this season, is on Australian Schoolboys duty ahead of their two-test series with New Zealand starting on Tuesday.
With next match is set down for next Saturday, the day before the grand final, his availability for the Holden Cup decider is also clouded should they Dragons get there.
Coach Wayne Collins said that’s something he’s yet to consider, putting his entire focus on Saturday’s clash with the Sea Eagles.
“Zac’s gone over with the Australian Schoolboys,” Collins said.
“We’ll slip Stevie Marsters back to fullback and put young Jackson Ford in the centres. Trent Peoples will come into the side and that’s the way we’ll cover that one.
“It happens for every team at every level, guys come in and out, you just have to deal with it the best you can.”
