Boys and girls teams from Russell Vale, Figtree, Wollongong Olympic, Fernhill and Lake Heights all tasted success in the elite statewide knockout competition.
In the under 12 girls, Russell Vale kicked things off on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Strathfield as Shellharbour’s boys team fell 2-1 to Balmain.
The under 13 boys were successful when Figtree beat Abbotsford 4-1.
Both under 14s teams got up as Wollongong Olympic (boys) smashed Hurlstone Park Wanderers 5-0 and Fernhill (girls) beat Earlwood Wanderers 2-0.
In the under 16’s, Lake Heights (boys) edged out Balmain 1-0. The under 16 girls team from Shellharbour fell 2-0 to Leichhardt.
Balgownie were just narrowly beaten in the under 17 boys in a tense 3-2 loss to Abbotsford.
