McCrae finished with 160, as the Tigers posted 5-298, before bowling Corrimal out for 163. While Helensburgh were in cruise control, Uni were jolted into action in the field by a stunning 103-run partnership from Jamie Fleming and Kody Freeman.
Defending 8-234 off their 50 overs, University had Balgownie 3-6 and 7-113.
Rhys Voysey picked up the breakthrough, bowling Freeman for 26, before Simon Pedretti was out, leaving Bally with just one wicket left and eight runs to win. Fleming attempted to hit down the ground, only to be stumped by Andrew Page off the bowling of Shaun Thompson.
