Marco Polo has been providing quality aged care in the Illawarra since 1989 at its Unanderra site and now at its new site in Woonona, which opened in November 2016.

“At Marco Polo Aged Care Services, we consider it a privilege to care for the aged,” general manager Philip Savides said. “We aim to provide the best care possible. We are committed to providing culturally and linguistically appropriate facilities and services.

“We believe that a partnership approach between the resident, their family, the resident’s doctor, staff and volunteers of Marco Polo Aged Care Services is the only way to ensure the care needs of the resident are met.

“Built on a foundation of respect, we expect good care and special consideration to all residents and clients, as well as loyalty to colleagues and the organisation.”

Marco Polo Aged Care Services management considers staff and volunteers to be its most valuable resource.

“We believe positive staff and volunteer morale is important to ensure work is enjoyed and the residents receive quality care,” Mr Savides said.

“We therefore work towards creating a workplace that is welcoming and affirming. We are committed to providing and maintaining a safe, harmonious and professional work environment. We place a priority on professional development through the provision of relevant education.”

Marco Polo acknowledges all carers who give their time to the aged in our community - whether paid or as a volunteer.
