On Friday night the Barrack Heights woman and scores of her family and friends donned pink tutus, drank pink champagne and encouraged each other to ‘’check your boo bees’’.
It was a fun night with a serious message – and that’s what the Cancer Council wants others to emulate this October.
The charity is urging Illawarra residents to host a Girls’ Night In or Pink Ribbon fundraiser during the month to fund vital research into breast and gynaecological cancers.
Funds raised also contribute to prevention and advocacy programs to help beat women’s cancers, as well as support services for sufferers.
