More then 50 businesses from throughout the region are vying for recognition at the Illawarra Business Chamber’s IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards this Friday. Some 81 finalists have been named 17 categories for the annual celebration of business success at WIN Entertainment Centre.

The event has returned to a sit down dinner format and this year the talents of celebrity chef Geoff Jansz is adding to the culinary experience by designing a locally inspired menu especially for the occasion.
The star of television shows such as What’s Cooking, Fresh and Burke’s Backyard lives on the Southern Highlands and has been working on a three-course meal based on his passion for freshness and originality. “I grew up in the Illawarra. My father had a business in Corrimal. I want to put some local meaning on the plate because it is the Illawarra awards and it is a great region”.
Chamber executive director Chris Lamont said NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is attending to hear about the quality field of finalists in the running for major awards.
