Shakespeare’s greatest clowns — the six endearingly amateur actors who give a daffy royal command performance for the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream — take centre stage in this wild re-imagining of what might have happened off-stage during the Bard’s most loved comedy.
Clowning, vaudeville, slapstick, farce, stand-up comedy and some hilarious puppetry come together to create an anarchic and bawdy carnival that revels in its own theatricality.
Recommended for ages 13+. Contains adult themes.
At IPAC until Saturday. www.merrigong.com.au
