Police allege Dillon Welland bombarded the woman with up to 60 phone calls and more than 30 threatening text messages on the evening of September 11, putting him in breach of conditions of the apprehended violence order between them.
Police said they were in the middle of taking a statement from the woman when Welland allegedly called her phone again.
Police claim when they advised Welland down the phone that he was in breach of the order, the 26-year-old replied “I don’t give a f—k, catch me if you can, c—ts” before hanging up.
Police allege Welland again breached the AVO less than two weeks later while he and the woman were arguing inside her home.
It is alleged Welland grabbed the handbag that was around the woman’s arm and used it to prevent her leaving the house.
The woman struggled free from Welland’s grip and fled the house, police claim.
Officers arrived a short time later but could not locate Welland.
He was arrested just before dawn on Tuesday following another incident at the house.
In court on Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors said Welland had a history of intimidating the victim and was currently subject to a good behaviour bond for a matter involving an offence against the same woman.
Magistrate Chris McRobert refused bail, saying there was an unacceptable risk Welland would commit further offences and endanger the victim and the community if released.
