Lifeline’s Big Book Fair fundraising event is on this weekend at the Illawarra Sports Stadium, Berkeley.
The Big Book Fair runs this Friday October 20 and Saturday October 21 from 9am to 5pm, plus this Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
Around 75,000 books will be on display in over 50 categories including fiction, non-fiction, reference, hobbies, travel, children’s books, art, science, literature, history, biographies, old, rare or just interesting books.
There will be something there for everyone, and a printed floor plan is available at the door!
On Saturday there will be a family afternoon where the kids can get their faces painted or do some colouring in, while mum and dad browse the tables.
On Sunday, all remaining stock is half the marked price.
Lifeline South Coast Community Partners, Southern.IML Pathology will be running a book donation point in the carpark.
Customers can drive up, unload their boot of books to donate, then go inside and restock their shelves.
Lifeline South Coast executive director, Grahame Gould, says a fantastic part of the Book Fair is finding rare or out-of-print books.

Lifeline’s Big Book Fair is the major fundraising event for Lifeline South Coast.
Funds raised at the Fair go toward Lifeline services including Lifeline’s 24-hour crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast on 13 11 14.
Recent Australian Bureau of Statistics data revealed that last year we lost 2,866 Australians to suicide.
Lifeline believes we can all have a role to play in suicide prevention.
Lifeline South Coast is a local service, which means that the funds raised locally stay here in our community and are used to help local people talk about their problems and find ways to solve them.
Last year, Lifeline South Coast answered 23,500 calls from people in the Illawarra and South Coast.
For more information about this vital service in the community, or to volunteer and give back of your time, please visit the Lifeline South Coast website at www.lifelinesouthcoast.org.au.
