The Gerringong captain was a member of the team that lost to South East in the final of last year’s edition and he’s confident that the team can claim the title this year.
“Hopefully we can walk away with the trophy, it’d be nice personally to get some runs and a few wickets, but most importantly if we play well as a team I think we can go one step further this year.” Berry said.
The side travels to Nowra to face Shoalhaven in a 50 over game on Saturday before playing either a final or consolation match on Sunday depending on the outcome of Saturday’s game. Berry is preparing for a tough match against Shoalhaven.
“I know they’ve got a few good players in that side, it’ll be a tough game, but hopefully we can walk away with the win.”
The Burns Cup acts as a key selection trial for the ACT Southern team that will represent the region at the Country Championships.
