A man is in critical condition in hospital after he was allegedly choked in a domestic incident at Fairy Meadow on Sunday

Wollongong police were called to a home on Fairy Meadow Avenue, about 9.30pm following reports of an assault.
Police will allege a 27-year-old man assaulted a 58-year-old man by grabbing him around the throat following a verbal argument.
Both men are known to each other.
The older man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The younger man was arrested at the scene.
He was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with two counts of common assault, and intentionally choking a person with recklessness.
He was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Monday.
