And it was proven again on the weekend, at the Slam Down Under tournament at Shellharbour City Stadium.
In the 11th annual Slam Down Under, the Wollongong Roller Hawks finished first and third in division one.
Illawarra also picked up the division three prize, with the Hawks edging out the Eagles in the final.
The Victorian Vipers took away the division two crown, beating the Frenchville Rockwheelers, with Coffs Harbour third.
Sunday’s finals come after last week’s Masters event at Kiama, where the Roller Hawks were beaten 36-24 by the Old School Wheelkings from Sydney.
While the tournament featured some of the nation’s top players, the Australian Rollers and Gliders are competing at the Asian-Oceania Zone championships in Beijing this week.
