But a love of study is not one of them.
While 18-year-old Darcy loves putting in the hard work to reap the rewards, his sister Gabi is more laid-back in her HSC studies.
‘’Schoolwork comes more naturally to Darcy. He can just smash out pretty good grades, no matter the effort,’’ Gabi said.
But that’s not necessarily a bad thing for the Holy Spirit College students.
‘’I think we balance each other out,’’ Darcy said.
‘’I’m a bit more invested in my studies and I do tend to get a bit more stressed during exams. But, seeing how laid back Gabi is relaxes me quite a bit.’’
His sister’s calming influence came in handy this past week when Darcy did six HSC exams in as many days.
‘’I’m heaps relaxed a the moment but it was a pretty stressful time that first week. The good news is I only have one exam left to do on Friday,’’ Darcy said.
The wannabe sports journalist is also in high spirits because he has already been accepted to do a double degree in Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Communications and Media at the University of Wollongong.
Gabi also wants to become a nurse in the future but plans to defer her studies next year.
‘’I definitely know that I want to pursue a career in nursing but next year I’m going to have a year off and just work and be a little selfish,’’ she said.
Gabi and Darcy are one of four set of twins who go to Holy Spirit College at Bellambi.
They are the only twins doing their HSC this year.
