White missed the Hawks’ 105-96 victory over the Brisbane Bullets on Sunday because of a mystery illness that had him bed ridden for days.

But coach Rob Beveridge was optimistic that his defensive-minded skipper would be back for their long trip over to the Western Australian capital. 

“He is feeling really good,” he said. 

“He has been training. Obviously he was really sick earlier in the week when he went down but he thinks he is good but until we get a medical clearance from a specialist he won’t play.

“He is very confident that whatever it might be [he is over it] but that’s the thing, it is a mystery illness so we don’t know what it is.

“He has all the blood tests, he has had scans and we know there is some information about his organs so obviously his health is a priority for us.

“Fingers crossed the specialist clears him and he is good to go in Perth.”

White played a limited role in Illawarra’s first two games before he was stuck down with illness. If he can’t make the Perth match, the Hawks play again on Sunday against Sydney Kings.
