The provider of early education, care, recreation, cultural and inclusion services employs nearly 500 people in the Illawarra and officially opened the new centre on top of Stockland Shellharbour on Thursday.
It is holding an open day this Saturday that will show how accessible the new facility is to rooftop parking at the shopping centre.
Big Fat Smile drew on decades of experience in child care to develop the new early education centre. It has created new learning environments to assist children to achieve their full potential.
Chief executive Jenni Hutchins said the Big Fat Smile had responded to community demand in opening the new centre as it continues to grow in 11 local government areas in NSW.
Ms Hutchins said the new Shellharbour centre has three distinct learning environments, each with its own indoor room and an indoor/outdoor area.
There’s also a large outdoor space for children of all ages to enjoy together.
Ms Hutchins said regardless of weather the children will always have access to a space that facilitates the development of gross motor skills.
“This new centre reflects Big Fat Smile’s vision and purpose in ensuring quality care available to all children and families in our community. We are committed to maintaining and offering this exceptional standard of care and providing intentional positive interactions with the children and families of Shellharbour”.
