AMF Illawarra trio Reanna Skorer, Renee Waters and Rowena Jenner were members of the four-person NSW Restricted team while Shoalhaven’s Glen Corbett was a member of the men’s team.

Their gold medal in the marquee combined men’s and women’s point-score brought the trophy back to NSW for the first time in five years.

Skorer and Waters also claimed gold in the women’s doubles and combined with Jenner and Judy West to claim gold in the women’s teams. Corbett also picked up bronze in the men’s combined point-score. 

Having won numerous state and national medals in disability competitions in recent years, this year’s titles marked a successful move into the all abilities arena (off handicap scores) for the Illawarra quartet.

“I have been so proud watching these guys develop as athletes and growing in confidence outside the safety net of their years of experience in disability centered competitions,” coach Paul Jenner said.

“I truly believe ten pin bowling is the best sport in the world and in restricted grades, no matter what your abilities the handicap system allows for everyone to compete on a level playing field.

“They have far exceeded the hopes I had for the them in their bowling careers. 

“I don’t believe they’ve yet reached their full potential and I’m looking forward watching them grow in the future.”
