South Coast cyclist Amanda Reid has been recognised for her golden Paralympics performance, by being nominated for the NSW Institute of Sport athlete of the year award.

Reid is one of six athletes shortlisted, including the Wollongong-based Queensland triathlete Ashleigh Gentle, as well as winter sport star Britt Cox, two-time Olympics medal-winning paddler Jess Fox, track and road wheelchair athlete Madi de Rozario and world champion discus thrower Dani Stevens.
The winners will be announced at the annual function, to be held on November 16.
Coach Bradley McGee has been nominated for the NSWIS Awards coach of the year.
“We are delighted to nominate Brad and Amanda for these awards and recognise their outstanding achievements this year,” NSWIS chief executive Kevin Thompson said.
“It has been another tremendous year for NSWIS, with lots of excellent results across several sports.”
