The massive water pipeline from Broken Hill to some 260kms north, which will supply the town with a reliable source of drinking water, is a boost, not only for Broken Hill, but also for Bluescope who will supply the steel.
The resultant employment increase, estimated at 500 jobs, is a welcome boost to our State workforce.
BUT, the real smart move is to pipe the water from upstream on the Murray which would otherwise be lost to EVAPORATION!!!
Congrats to all concerned. ... Let's have more COMMON SENSE infrastructure.

The big question is " WHY "
Why do we pay the highest price in the world for petrol?
Why do we pay the highest price in the world for personal tax?
Why do we pay the highest price for road tolls?
Why do we pay the highest price for insurance and house insurance and why do we pay the highest prices for everything there is to buy?
We keep on paying and paying and even pay tax on our taxes, we even go to the extreme where we pay tax on our wages and out of that if we save we pay tax on this saving, it's become ridiculous to the end where we pay taxes on everything we do, buy, breathe and discard!
Our society is a throw away, it costs too much to get things fixed and too cheap not to replace, we've replaced our workforce with machines and then give them money to live on without having to work.
If we get stressed about not working, or depressed the doctor will give us antidepressants and we then go on sickness benefits, paid by the government and our workforce is then taxed at a higher rate to cover the shortfall!
I'm getting a bit lost here!
Anyway, we all know that these things are for sure.
We are born, grow up and pay taxes all our lives and when we die, pay death tax or everything that relates to this then repeat the above!
I’m getting depressed, so off to Centrelink to get paid , then to the beach to lie in the sun and recoup and dream about not having to pay taxes

Technology replaces paper
The benefits of the new technology that has replaced workers with robots is not being shared.
It has enriched the wealth and power of the few and misery for the workers replaced.
The political class are sharing the spoils and ensuring its dominance.
While both the dominant parties are guilty the Liberal party is the one most guilty.
The current attack on the ABC has been requested by the media moguls.Technology is replacing paper and their ‘rivers of gold’. But the ABC’s value is not measured by money.
It is our most recognised trusted news service and is a rich source of the political and cultural issues that inform us.
The Liberal’s current attack is aimed at eliminating it’s market share and that independent voice.
The Liberal’s appointment of Michelle Guthrie, a former Murdoch employee to head the ABC, has back fired.
Her knowledge of the crass tactics of the media moguls to increase their wealth and silence dissent is being employed to defend the ABC, not the media moguls.
Her advice to the government is, “The ABC Act and Charter should not be tampered with simply to suit political or commercial agendas’.
This will not deter the Liberal climate denier ideologues who are tied at the hip to those ‘political and commercial interests’.
