From October 30, Premier Illawarra will trial the Route 59 bus, which is designed to fit in with the arrival and departure times of JetGo’s Melbourne and Brisbane flights.
The service will be trialled until July 1, 2018
The bus will include six services a day between the Novotel Northbeach and the Illawarra Regional Airport – three in each direction.
There are only six stops on the route, which includes Warrawong Plaza and Stockland Shellharbour.
“The services will be timed to align with the flight schedule into and out of the airport, giving air passengers bus services at the most convenient times,” said Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra Gareth Ward.
Mr Ward said the buses on the route will be airconditioned and also feature two wheelchair spaces.
According to the timetable, the trip from North Wollongong to the airport will take 50 minutes.
Services will get to the airport 40 minutes before each flight’s departure time, and will leave 40 minutes after each arrival.
Passengers can check out the timetable at the Premier Illawarra website or at transportnsw.info.
