Damien Kennedy, 28, faced the Brisbane Arrest Court on Saturday charged with two counts of contravention of a relevant order, after fleeing while supervised under the Dangerous Prisoners Sexual Offenders Act. He was remanded in custody to reappear on November 21.

Mr Kennedy fled from the suburb of Salisbury, in Brisbane’s south on Monday afternoon and the next day taunted police with a Facebook post in which he claimed he was in Rockhampton.

"Come get me morther (sic) f---ers", he wrote.

However, on Wednesday afternoon Mr Kennedy was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Wollongong, a long way from Logan or Brisbane’s south, where police originally thought he may have been hiding out.

He was extradited from across the border and arrived back in Queensland on Friday.

In 2008, Kennedy pleaded guilty to the rape of a 49-year-old sex worker.

Court documents reveal he was 18 years old when he entered the woman's townhouse and repeatedly punched her before he threatened her with scissors.

During his sentencing hearing, the crown prosecutor outlined the details of the vicious attack.

"He grabbed her around the neck and pushed her towards the lounge room, or the lounge," the prosecutor said.

"He continued punching her, hitting her and grabbing her around the head and upper body until she fell to the ground.

"He straddled her and was now again groping the top of his pants. He produced a pair of scissors, with one blade more pointy than the other."

After the attack, Kennedy apologised for hitting the woman.

The court heard Kennedy was raised in an "extremely toxic family environment" and first went to jail at the age of 17.

He was eligible for parole in 2010 and since then he has been in and out of custody after repeatedly returning positive drug tests, with methylamphetamine and cannabis the common factors.

In December last year, a judge considered him a "serious danger to the community" and he was released from custody on a supervision order.
