Emergency services were called to the accident, outside Fishnets Takeaway on Pioneer Road, about 10pm.
As a result of the collision, one of the cars mounted the footpath and hit the front of the takeaway store.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said an 80-year-old woman was trapped in one of the cars for a short time.
She was conscious and breathing, but complaining of chest pain.
Another female, whose age was unknown, sustained lacerations to her head, the spokeswoman said.
Both were treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.
Three ambulances and a number of police vehicles responded to the crash.
Pioneer Drive was closed for more than an hour while the accident was cleared.
