The event, to be contested across Saturday and Sunday, will see athletes compete in both track and field relays in a variety of disciplines.
Tim Crinion from Wollongong City Athletics Club said it’s an exciting competition that provides athletes with the chance to compete in a range of unique events.
“We try to get as many people to compete as possible, to give all athletes that experience of competing at Homebush.” Crinion said.
“The kids get to spend more time with friends and the mixed relays allow boys and girls to interact in different ways.”
The junior athletes will compete on Saturday, while those aged 13 to 17 will compete on Sunday. Track relays range in distance from 100m up to 800m, while all throwing and jumping disciplines also feature in the field events.
