The series, which runs from May to November, features seven teams of eight players representing the seven golf clubs in the region. The series is for golfers aged 55 years or older and this is the eighth year the competition has been contested.
Rod Robson, veterans captain at Port Kembla Golf Club, was proud of the efforts the Port Kembla team put in throughout the year.
“I’m extremely proud of the team.” Robson said. “They have to participate over the seven months and be consistently good golfers throughout that time.
“It’s not an easy feat to play consistently good golf over a period of seven months, culminating each month at the monthly tournament, so it’s a fantastic achievement.”
Monday’s tournament, played at Port Kembla Golf Course, was won by Chris Goodwin from Jamberoo with 45 stableford points.
