Overnight Wollongong SES Unit received 27 requests for assistance since the beginning of the storms, mostly for leaking roofs, flash flooding and sand-bagging.
Spokeswoman Jenni North said the SES experienced calls for help from the Northern Illawarra right down to the Victorian border but the positive was there were no flood rescues.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jordan Notara said the rain varied greatly with across the region.
Dombarton recorded 121mm before 9am Saturday, Mount Kembla 117mm, Calderwood 116mm though Port Kembla recorded a mere 15-6mm and Macquarie Pass 9mm.
Meantime Endeavour Energy spokeswoman Janine Cullen said the storm caused blackouts to around 4642 homes mainly in the Illawarra. It’s believed power has now returned to all homes.
More rain is expected Saturday though easing in the afternoon and evening, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
