The team suffered their first loss of the season against ACT two weeks ago, but they turned the tables in Sunday’s semifinal victory over the ACT on Sunday.
Callum Barton top scored with 65 as South Coast set ACT a target of 177. Ben Lavender and Hugo Ikeda then combined for seven wickets to bowl their opponents out for 123.
Also on Sunday, the Illawarra under 15s will face North Shore in a qualifying final. Illawarra were defeated by North Shore earlier in the season, but captain Sam Hobson is confident the side can reverse the result.
“Whilst we know the quality of the opposition will be strong,” Hobson said. “I think our boys are learning that if we do all the basics right, and take our chances, we can compete with the stronger teams and hopefully we can go deep into the finals series.”
