In her first start of the tournament, Studdon partnered with Queenslander Ali Brigginshaw in the halves and laid on four tries in the first half and bagged a four-pointer of her own.

She also put Vanessa Foliaki’s third try on a platter with a deft grubber and put Eliana Walton over for her hat-trick in the second half. Studdon also booted eight goals for a personal haul of 20 points.

Studdon’s NSW halves partner Caitlin Moran was also outstanding in the opening two matches of the tournament providing a welcome headache for coach Brad Donald with both halfbacks in impressive form ahead of the big matches.

There was some concern however, with star back-rower Kezie Apps picking up a cork and limping from the field in her second stint in the second half.
