Craig from Compleat Angler at Windang says the new range of Yakamito lures are now available and a few samples were field tested a few days ago. The boys found a few nice flatties fishing in that horrendous 30 knot black nor’easter.
The channel suffered a fair bit from the wind but a few diehards were seen doing their best for a feed on bream and flatties using fresh Lake Illawarra prawns.
The local beaches were deserted as the nor’ easter hammered anything that wasn’t secured and even the lee areas were unfishable.
This current forecast looks promising so the stir up should see a wide range of fish hungry for well-presented baits or lures.

Most freshwater aficionados were well aware the Murray cod season opened last Friday December 1, and from the numerous photos splashed all over social media, most trips were very successful.
DP/Fisheries Director of Fisheries Compliance, Patrick Tully, reminded anglers of the need to adhere to Murray cod possession limits, size limits and catch and release best practice or face certain fines and potential loss of gear including boats and vehicles.
Current regulations state a daily bag limit of two Murray cod per person per day and a total possession limit of four and all cod must measure between 55cm and 75cm.
