Ferguson took the crown by beating Forster’s Dylan Riley 31-29 in the final to complete a hugely successful four days of bowls on the excellent green at Kiama.
Ferguson, the 2017 Engadine club singles champion, beat Tommy Ellem (Merrylands) 31-18 in the state Champion of Club Champion then Nathan Dawson (Kurri Kurri) 31-29, before a 31-19 semi-final win over Scott Hamilton (Inverell East).
Last August, Ferguson had the biggest career win, claiming the Australian Indoor title to qualify along with Jeremy Henry as Australia’s reps at the World Cup at Warilla in March.
In the form of his career and already part of the NSW Open squad, Ferguson reached the final of the NSW State Singles at Ettalong BC and surely in the sights of national selector Steve Glasson and the Jackaroos.
