In a stern warning to their NBL title rivals, Gleeson was bullish about the potential of his squad following their 99-91 road victory over the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday afternoon.
"We’re still really evolving as a team,” Gleeson said.
“It’s an exciting time with this team. JP [Tokoto] brings so much athleticism and energy.
“Even though he didn’t shoot well [on Sunday], he rebounded well, he sees the play and he’s got a very high basketball IQ.
“We’ve got Derek [Cooke Jr] doing the muscle work that Matty Knight used to do around the rim and holding that spot.
“Lucas [Walker] is just growing in confidence and his ability every game.
“I still think we’ve got a little bit to go with the team.”
The Wildcats have already beaten Illawarra on three occasions this season and meet them again on December 23.
Perth (10-3) are first on the ladder, but have New Zealand Breakers (10-4) in hot pursuit after round nine.
The two clubs are already three wins clear of their nearest rivals, with Adelaide 36ers (7-6) leading the chasing pack.
