Faithfull saw nine minutes of court time and tallied three points, two rebounds, two steals and two turnovers in Illawarra’s 99-91 defeat to Perth Wildcats at WIN Entertainment Centre on Sunday afternoon.
The former Sydney Kings guard has come into the squad as an injury replacement for vice-captain Mitch Norton (thumb).
Beveridge expects he will continue to improve as he settles into the Hawks’ rotation.
“He could surprise some people,” the coach said.
“Defensively he is very deceptive and he is long, and a good athlete.
“Once he starts to believe he is an NBL player, I think he will show that he really belongs in this league.”
Similarly to current Cairns guard Jarrad Weeks in 2015, Faithfull has trained with the Hawks throughout the pre-season and opening rounds.
