1.30pm: An elderly man had to be cut from his car by firefighters following a two-car crash at Yallah on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the crash – in the northbound lanes of the M1 Princes Motorway, near Haywards Bay Drive – just after 1pm.
Fire and Rescue crews from nearby Albion Park Rail responded to the incident and worked to free the man from his damaged car.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the man, aged 77, was trapped by confinement and would be assessed by paramedics once he had been freed.
Northbound traffic on the motorway is affected by the accident and motorists have been told to exercise caution in the area.
