The carnival features Fours, Singles and Pairs from December 27 with Finals Day on January 5 at Dapto Citizens. multi-world champion Jeremy Henry will play in the Pairs, while new World Champion of Champion Singles winner Aaron Teys is teaming with state rep Ray Pearse.
Jackeroos squad member Corey Wedlock is chasing a third straight Singles crown, while Scott Bateup and Brett Pieper will defend their Pairs crown, as will Jared Hamilton’s team in the Fours.
Balgownie-based John Green has won a record 10 South Pacific titles and made the Singles and Fours final 12 months ago. Nine-time champion Shane Garvey has also entered after not playing last year.
Thirteen Illawarra clubs will host at least one day of the carnival with Dapto Citizens leading the way as carnival headquarters.
