Electing to bat after winning the toss, Newcastle made 8-175 from their 50 overs, including 65-run opening wicket stand.
Jamie Phillipson continued his outstanding tournament for Illawarra, taking 4-27 from 10 overs, to make it nine in his past four matches.
Matt Garnero (2-27) and Connor Gray (2-28) bowled well with the new ball.
In reply, Illawarra were 4-45 as four batsmen made starts without making a big score.
They fought back midway through the innings, but lost their last five wickets for 11 runs to be all out for 103. Daniel Wark made 22, while Garnero finished with 21.
Elsewhere, Illawarra’s under 16s defeated Newcastle by 24 runs, with Jacob Young starring with the ball, taking 4-7.
Illawarra’s under 11s kept their unbeaten record in tact with a 121-run victory over Hornsby.
