Rob Beveridge admitted Boone “put on a clinic” with his 20 points and nine rebounds against the Hawks on Saturday night.
“He got most of his points from lay-ups in the first half and the way he can go from point a to point b is what you’d put in a coaching clinic,” Beveridge said.
“He’s a big athletic guy that did a superb job of running the floor and that hurt us, there’s no doubt about it.”
The former New Jersey Nets centre gave an interesting insight into his own approach in the post-game presser.
“I’m kind of an opportunistic runner,” Boone said.
“I don’t really run every time but, if I see the people ahead of me aren’t really looking, that’s when I’ll try and run.
“The reason I got lay-ups was because Tai was running, Craig Moller was running. We got guys ahead of the ball and that just freed up the space for me to run.”
