At least Jeff Hopkins' side will be fit and rested for the clash with Newcastle Jets, which is the curtain raiser at AAMI Park on Friday evening before the two men's teams take each other on later in the evening.
That easy win over Adelaide put Victory back on track for a finals tilt as it took them into seventh place but, more importantly just five points behind fourth-placed Sydney but with with a game in hand.
The Jets are six points clear of Hopkins' women but have also played a game more.
The importance of this fixture, which can see Victory really put pressure on the teams above them if they collect three points, is not lost on the coach.

Natasha Dowie scored twice in the win over the Reds to become Victory's all-time leading goalscorer outright with 16 in 25 games, while Lia Privitelli and Jeon Ga-eul got on the scoresheet for the first time in their A-League careers.
"Lia had a great game. Not only did she score, but she created a lot of havoc down that side and Jeon now is starting to really come into her own. She's a quality player and she can really make things happen.
"When you've got a number of different attacking outlets, it makes it much harder for the opposition to be able to close you down."
