Clare Cunningham’s undeniable talent led all the way to chalk up a hat-trick of wins in the Resolutions Class 2 Handicap (1200m), knocking off Bentley Biscuit’s long-standing mark which had stood since April 2005.
Bentley Biscuit was a multiple Group 1 winner, including claiming victory in the TJ Smith in 2007.
Cradle Mountain, ridden by Jason Collett, took 0.2 seconds off his mark when he clocked 1:08.60 seconds on a soft 5 track.
It was a dazzling performance out in front as the $1.95 TAB fixed odds favourite put three lengths on his nearest rival Malaigo.
Up-and-coming trainer Cunningham, who currently only operates a small team at Warwick Farm, was rapt with the performance.
“He speaks for himself and is a great horse for the stable,” she said.
Cunningham plans to take a cautious approach as she brings the promising sprinter through his grades.
Earlier, trainer Robert Pearse tasted success with his only runner on the card when The Patrician defied a three-wide run to score under the urging of jockey Adam Hyeronimus.
