The Australian Crawl frontman and solo artist is touring the country again, returning to the Illawarra with his acoustic guitar on March 24 at Anita’s Theatre Thirroul.
In a stripped back live show Reyne will be sifting through his 40-year career and plucking out the songs that had the most impact.
Of his illustrious career there isn’t much he would change, the musician said, except for little things like reading the fine print more and taking some things more seriously than he did.
“You are what you is really, and you wouldn’t be where you are if you hadn’t done what you’d done,” he said.
“I’ve sort of always run my own little race, I've never been sort of the mainstream really, I think.”
Reyne is one of a number of 1980s rock pin-up boys gracing the region with their presence this year – Jimmy Barneys, Ian Moss, Boom Crash Opera, Icehouse, Mark Gable and Steve Kilbey are all taking to a stage.
James Reyne is at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul on March 24 and Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on March 23.
