The annual Kids Day Out is hosted by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (Illawarra South Coast Sub-Branch).
Authors and illustrators will keep the attention of kids aged three up to 13 at the free event with writing and illustrating workshops, poetry, rhythm and rhymefrom 10am to 2pm.
“It’s such a brilliant event with award winning authors, illustrators and performers all offering their time,” said spokeswoman Demelza Haines.
Picture book author Dianne Ellis, illustrator Dale Newman and tween fiction writer Mary van Reyk are among the those ready to inspire young minds.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and register on the morning at 9:15am for particular sessions.
