Large Australian stockbroking firm Morgans has signed on as the principal sponsor of the Kiama Sevens tournament on February 24, 2018.
Tournament director Mark Bryant said it was a great new partnership for the large one day and nationally regarded Rugby Sevens tournament.
“Morgans is not only Australia’s largest stockbroking and wealth management firms, it has a fantastic track record of investing strongly in a wide range of community groups and events, including sporting organisations across Australia,” he said.
“Morgans, in particular has a strong association with iconic rugby clubs such as Brothers in Queensland and Sydney University, so we’re naturally excited to be included in that company.”
Anthony Hourigan, of Morgans, said the firm was delighted to be part of such an iconic event.
“As an organisation that prides itself on local presence with global reach, there are several strong connections between the Kiama Sevens and Morgans,” he said.
“We are excited about building a long and successful partnership together by getting behind this wonderful community event.”
Mr Bryant said the partnership with Morgans would add to the momentum the Kiama Sevens had gathered in recent years.
“The Kiama Sevens has built itself into Australia’s best one-day Rugby Sevens tournament for players and fans alike,” he said.
“The Kiama Sevens is now recognised as a major step along the path to the Olympics for our best Rugby Sevens players, while providing fans the enjoyment a smaller-scale tournament provides.”
“As our best Sevens players compete for the attention of the selectors, fans get a front row seat, rubbing shoulders with the stars of today and tomorrow, all at the most beautiful rugby ground in the world.”
Mr Bryant said the sporting event is so popular the draw has already been filled for February 24.
“It’s proof of how well the Kiama Sevens is developing that teams are knocking down the door to get into this tournament, and it means we’re in for a fantastic day for the players and fans alike.”
