Groups such as Horns of Orke, Femme Fatles, the Junkadelics and the Beat Meisters joined dozens of other artists to entertain crowds at the Eat Street Markets in the Crown Street Mall.
The annual parade involving all Honk! participants will be joined by members of the Refugee Action Collective, Stop Adani Group, Better Verse, the Knitting Nanas and other activists to bring music and colour to the mall on Friday from 5pm.
This will include a performance by the Hoot! Pickup Band comprised of around 80 musicians who came together for workshops this week especially for the festival.
The free concerts continue on Saturday with free workshops for children and melodies for all in the Arts Precinct from 10am.
