From Monday members of both communities can access information sessions, workshops, practical live demonstrations and campus tours designed to showcase the facilities and course offerings available.
Many people from TAFE will be on hand to offer career advice at the local campuses.
There will be opportunities to meet the teachers and talk to inspiring graduates now working in their chosen field.
Regional general manager Kerry Penton said TAFE NSW offers more than 1200 courses across the state in areas of industry demand “and provides students with the training they need to secure a job. At TAFE NSW, students can study when, where and what they want and are supported by a talented community of career advisors, counsellors and teachers”.
The NSW Government provides significant subsidies for a range of courses at TAFE NSW to ensure students can undertake the studies they need to upskill or find a new job, without having to graduate with a huge debt.
Events and activities in Wollongong next week include campus tours from 10am to 12pm daily at Wollongong North campus and on 16 January from 10am to 11am at Wollongong West.
At Shellharbour there is a nursing/first aid workshop daily from 10.30am to 12.30pm and a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Care information session from January 15 to 17 from 10am to 3pm.
Campus tours will be conducted from 10am to 10.30am and 2pm to 2.30pm daily from January 15 to 19. Course information sessions will occur daily.
Those who can’t attend signature events from around the state will be live-streamed to the TAFE NSW Facebook page throughout the week. Enrolment Week 2017 attracted 10,000 people at 1300 events. A further 26,000 watched online via Facebook Live events. Information on activities taking place at local TAFE NSW campuses will be posted at Facebook Live events.
