In a classic case of small dog syndrome, two recently hatched Bush Stone Curlew chicks have been filmed standing their ground with a large mob of kangaroos at Symbio Wildlife Park.

The two week old chicks were trying to make some new kangaroo friends in their new surroundings but their new neighbours bounded off every time they made their approach.
Once the chicks realised the kangaroos were running away every time they came near, they began taunting the much larger members of the Symbio family.

As they began to grow in confidence with their newly found bravado it looked to zookeepers that they were enjoying the game they were playing.
Their antics were captured trying to make new friends by a video filmed and edited by Kevin Fallon.
The two, yet to named, youngsters are part of an ongoing and successful endangered species breeding at Symbio Wildlife Park.
They have gradually been introduced to their new surroundings because in the future the chicks will reside in the kangaroo walk-through area.
The zookeepers know that is similar to the of cohabitation of both species in nature along the East Coast of Australia.
