A man has suffered serious injuries after he was hit by a bus at Mount Warrigal.

Early reports are that the man was thrown to the ground after impact, motionless and suffering a head injury and fractured ankle.
The man is believed aged in his late 20s.
He was crossing Lake Entrance Road near Captain Cook Drive, about 12.40pm Tuesday, when the collision occurred.
Five ambulances were initially sent to the crash site.
The Mercury understands the injured man will be airlifted from Shellharbour Hospital to a Sydney hospital.
The crash is affecting eastbound traffic on Lake Entrance Road.
Update 1.45pm:
Acting Inspector Jack Brown Lake Illawarra Local Area Command said the man, aged 28, is in a critical condition.
“A short time ago a bus was travelling east on Lake Entrance Road at Barrack Heights. A 28-year-old Berkeley man has run from the curb and impacted the near side front windscreen of the bus,” he said.
“He has been critically injured. He’s been conveyed by ambulance to Shellharbour Hospital, where he’s being airlifted for further care at another hospital unit.”
“None of the passengers or driver have reported any injury.
“The passengers have been placed on another bus and are continuing their journey and the driver will be assisting police for a short time further.
“If there were any witnesses we’d very much like to hear from them so we can get a better picture of what happened.”
The man is being flown to St George Hospital.
