Tomorrow, January 20, all eyes will be focused in and around Kiama Harbour area for the running of the annual kids fishing comp convened and hosted by Kiama Game Fishing Club.

This comp will cater for 3 age divisions – under 6 years, 6 to under 11 years and 11 years to 16 years and each entrant will receive a Bunnings bucket packed with goodies from the many sponsors that have returned this year to fully support this charity event.
Fishing times are from 9am till noon with a prizes presentation shortly after end of fishing. Minnamurra Lions Club will provide a barbecue for all that need a snag or drink. Full details at www.kiamagfc.com.au

Three Victorian men have been fined in the Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court for taking trout using a firearm and a multi-pronged spear in the Tarago River, Victoria.
Gippsland Fisheries officers and Victoria police officers were led by the sound of gunfire late at night to a remote spot on the banks of the Tarago River where they saw the men spotlight shooting and spearing trout during the closed season. They were each fined $1400 and guns and other equipment were forfeited.
