Zunic is part of a talented Australian contingent competing at the Singapore Open, also including Robert Allenby, Marcus Fraser, Adam Bland, Terry Pilkadaris, Todd Sinnott, Cameron Davis and Matthew Griffin.
The 26-year-old produced a stunning third round at the $1.5 million Australian PGA last month, carding a 64 after threatening to card a near-perfect 59 with 11 birdies in 16 holes.
But a 71 on the Sunday meant he was forced into a playoff with the eventual winner Cameron Smith.
Victory would have handed him a two-year exemption on the European Tour, but fate now takes him to Singapore, because of Japan Tour eligibility – the event is co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour. He tees off with Japan’s Tatsuya Kodai and India’s Chiragh Kumah on Thursday, with $US1 million in prizemoney.
