The folk musician won his place at the renowned festival, which is running until January 28, via the Fret Fest Regional Song Contest.
He’s road-tripping in a camper trailer to the Golden Guitar capital with his dad for the event.
“I’m stoked, I really couldn’t believe my song [Old River] was picked over all the talent that they had. It’s really good exposure for my music, I really couldn't be happier,” he said.
Gordon will perform the winning song – which was written while on holiday to the Murray River – on the Fanzone Stage, Saturday January 27 along with five other finalists and two major winners.
It’s been a big 12 months for the singer-songwriter who has gone from playing his first gig to entertaining crowds at last week’s Illawarra Folk Festival at Bulli Showground.
