The chance that Dapto residents might not be able to use the Albion Park Rail Bypass is “sneaky cost-cutting”, says a local MP.

Labor’s Shellharbour MP Anna Watson has written to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian over the possibility the Yallah Interchange may not be built as part of the bypass.
The interchange would give the Dapto area southbound access to the bypass; without it, these motorists would have to continue to use the Princes Highway.
In her letter to the Premier, Ms Watson called for clarity on the future of the Yallah Interchange.
“Given Dapto and West Dapto are expected to become home to another 55,000 residents in the coming decades, this sneaky cost-cutting decision is rightly being considered as extremely short-sighted by the local community,” the letter stated.
Ms Watson also took issue with the delays in planning approval, which Roads and Maritime Services initially said was expected by December 2016.
The Premier’s office was contacted for comment.
