This weekend, Wollongong City Council will call on contractors to bid for the tender for build the next two stages of the $90 million Fowlers Road to Fairwater Drive link road project.

The West Dapto access road is the council’s largest-ever infrastructure project, with works on the first stage already well underway.
Stages two and three will includes construction of a 198-metre bridge with 11 segments which will cross the South Coast rail line and Mullet Creek floodplain.
“The completed project will see a new four-lane 1.3 kilometre road with a shared path as well as two bridges crossing the South Coast rail line, Mullet Creek and the floodplain,” Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said.
“This road link will help provide flood reliable access to the current and future residents of West Dapto.”
The council expects Stage 2 to begin in the middle of this year.
