DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE
The grand, headline-grabbing announcement by Gareth Ward that work would be starting on the Albion Park Rail by-pass should be seen for what it is – bull dust.

Fifteen months ago, he stood in my house and gave me an iron-clad guarantee that the bypass would begin in January 2018.
It follows other lies and empty promises by a gaggle of politicians by both sides about this issue for the last 40 years.
And then they blame the local council, recalcitrant residents or the Opposition when nothing happens.
Worse, Mr Ward allows himself wriggle-room by saying it would begin in the '2018/19 financial year' which means it could be as late as June 30th 2019 before work begins.
Smoke and mirrors as usual by a politician more concerned with his survival than honouring his commitment.
Residents of Albion Park Rail who endure congested highway, cowboy truckies, dozens of car accidents and manifest pollution don't believe a word of it.

IT’S QUITE SIMPLE
Here we go again – “enough is enough’ and “we have you people in our sights” - blah-blah-blah … sure.
What is enough is this kind of clap trap instead of pulling all B-Doubles off our roads right now.
These monsters should never have been allowed on our roads in the first place.
Australian roads are nowhere near capable of supporting double trailers of this size.
The answer to this transport nightmare of further death and destruction is spending billions of dollars on road and rail services along with getting back to and policing, a maximum speed of 90 kilometers for normal semi-trailers.
Alternatively if we don’t have the billions of dollars, then we shouldn’t have B-doubles!

CHANGE THE SYSTEM
Why is it that the only controls applied to the cost of living are workers wages?
Politicians and the so called top end of town have huge rises and the cost of living is rising at an ever increasing rate and there are no jobs around. So why is this allowed to happen,?
It’s because we have become dehumanised and are now seen as a resource that is only used to serve the rich and as no other use.
It’s no wonder that they have their money in foreign banks and pay no tax in Australia.
The to have the gall to give tax cuts to them as well and then tax those who actually do the work to fund the lives of those in the political arena and subsidise industries with unearned profits.
We need a change in our political system and that means a different class of people to be elected. Some one with integrety, honesty, intelligence and is there to serve this country and not use the same pot as these present bunch.

DRIVERS ‘NOT FINE’ AFTER HUNDREDS CAUGHT IN SHELLHARBOUR PARKING BLITZ
There is an excuse, you trolls - precedence. Council could have easily provided cautions for a week after ignoring its own parking requirements for years, but instead blitzed the community in a blatant revenue sting. These tactics backfire - for the council, local businesses and the trust of the community, that rules and laws are fairly applied.

Parking penalties are set by the NSW government and can’t be varied by council.

Where else are they gonna get the funds to pay for that monster of a new building they’ve got. No expense spared there.
