Last weekend saw the running of Lamond Contracting Shellharbour Game Fishing Club annual tournament out of Shellharbour Village and what an outstanding weekend it turned out to be fish wise. Some 30 boats and over 100 competing anglers saw excellent conditions on Saturday but unfortunately not too flash on Sunday weather wise.

The crews combined to tag 37 marlin with only one weighed, 13 sharks tagged & 1 weighed and 9 mahi mahi and again only a single fish was weighed. That showed the dedication and commitment to the conservation of fish stocks by responsible anglers – congratulations.
The final point score tally came down to the wire and in the capture division champion boat went to Reckless with 13,409 points over runner-up Black Dog on 4938 points.
Heaviest marlin was a striped of 113.5 kilograms for Black Dog and heaviest shark went to Reckless for their tiger of 227.9 kilos. Reckless also took out heaviest other game fish with a dolphin fish of 6.6 kilos on 6 kilo tackle.
The tag and release section saw champion boat go to Reel Screamer on 91,500 point over Profishent on 78,500 points. The first tagged marlin was at 8.30am Saturday by Barred For Life and Reel Screamer tallied 9 marlin for the tournament.
Highest tag point by a junior went to Tyler Whitaker on 23,500 and highest tag points small fry section was Drew McDonald on 14,553.
